In 2007 Snow City Arts won the prestigious Coming Up Taller Award, given annually by the White House to the 15 best youth programs in the Unites States.
Every day, Snow City Arts teaches hospitalized children the art of creative writing, music, painting, photography, and filmmaking. Young patients can take part in daily, in-hospital art workshops, as they cultivate their skills.
Why do we exist? Each year 161,000 children in Illinois are hospitalized, and a significant number of them regularly miss school because of their need for treatment.
Working bedside, we turn a time of healing into a time of learning!
